What is arguably the most popular, and the very best, Swiss chocolate brand around is Lindt.

 

In fact, I’ve seen these chocolates all over the place here in the United States. I’ve seen them in grocery stores, department stores (like Ross), and convenience stores all around. They’re actually not too difficult to find.

 

FYI, some of their more popular products are chocolate bars and chocolate truffles.

 

Anyway, Chocoladefabriken Lindt & Sprüngli AG, AKA Lindt, was founded in 1845 by David Sprüngli-Schwarz & his son Rudolf Sprüngli-Ammann. 

 

What I REALLY like about Lindt chocolates is that they offer seasonal options. For example, they produce various chocolate candy advent calendars and snowman-shaped chocolate bars for Christmas time.

 

Also, for Halloween, they produce Halloween LINDOR skeleton caskets and milk chocolate maple truffles.

 

(YUM! I’m a HUGE fan of maple flavor!)

 

In my opinion, Lindt chocolates may be one of the best Swiss chocolate brands for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Halloween, anniversaries, birthdays, and more!

Just like Lindt chocolates, I have seen Toblerone chocolates ALL OVER here in the United States including grocery stores, department stores, and convenience stores, too.

 

It’s easily recognizable by its distinctive long triangular prism shape.

 

Some people believe that the shape of the Toblerone chocolate candy is influenced by the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps.

For those of you who are here in the United States, you may know this famous Swiss chocolate malt-based milk as Ovaltine.

 

Ovomaltine is a milk flavoring product that was developed in 1904 in Bern, Switzerland as a potential solution to malnutrition.

 

In 1909, the company began exporting this product to Britain as Ovaltine. By the year 1915, Ovaltine began being manufactured in the United States.

 

In today’s day and age, many people consume this famous Swiss chocolate drink as a breakfast food or a sports drink.
